Origins and Publication History

Kentaro Miura first introduced the world of Berserk through a prototype in 1988 before launching the full series in Hakusensha's Monthly Animal House the following year. The manga eventually moved to Young Animal in 1992, where it maintained its publication run for decades. Tragically, Miura passed away in May 2021, but his dedication ensured that a final chapter he worked on was released posthumously later that September. To honor his vision, the series resumed publication in June 2022 under the careful supervision of Kouji Mori, Miura's childhood friend and fellow artist, alongside the dedicated team at Studio Gaga.
